Amy Balcomb is a classically trained pianist who began her studying from the age of 4yrs after listening to Elton John’s ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ album. Amy Balcomb is a full time piano teacher and media composer.

Composing began only a year later at the age of five and Amy’s writing styles have developed to become diverse, atmospheric and programmatic.

Born and residing in the UK, Amy formalised training in both piano and flute with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. After gaining much life experience along the way, she graduated as a mature student from The Open College of the Arts with a BA in Creative Arts, majoring in Music Composition and Creative Writing.

As a composer, Amy is highly efficient at capturing the client’s brief. She is also astute and often fast at hearing original compositional elements.

Amy has her own private teaching studio in the heart of Somerset, the land of cheddar cheese and cider making, and her students range in age and ability. She is a proud member of both PRS and MCPS.
